The Fourth R – Strategies for Healthy Youth Relationships contends that relationship knowledge and skills can and should be taught in the same way as reading, writing, and arithmetic, and therefore we refer to the classroom-based curriculum as the Fourth R (for Relationships).
Healthy Relationships Plus Program applies the same core principles of skill building and awareness as the Fourth R classroom-based programs, but in a non-classroom setting. This program targets the prevention of violence through the promotion of positive, healthy relationships.

Mentor Action provides education, mentorship and community participation to challenge existing societal norms that perpetuate gender-based violence and seek to create a community that is safe and violence-free.
The Sexual Assault Centre of Hamilton and Area hosts many public education programs and events, including:

- Bystander intervention
- Building healthy relationships
- Allyship against gender-based violence
